Gracepointe Church is pleased to serve as the home of American Heritage Girls Troop FL1689, a Christ-centered character and leadership development program for girls.
American Heritage Girls exists to help girls grow into women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country. Since its founding in 1995, AHG has developed a distinctly Christian program that combines biblical faith, meaningful service, practical life skills, leadership development, friendship, citizenship, and outdoor adventure.
At Gracepointe, we want our daughters to know not only who they are, but whose they are. Troop FL1689 gives girls an opportunity to grow alongside other Christian girls and godly adult mentors while learning, serving, creating, exploring, leading, and having a tremendous amount of fun.
Faith · Service · Fun
American Heritage Girls is built around a simple but substantial vision: girls growing in their faith, developing a heart for service, and enjoying the kind of wholesome fun that builds friendships and creates lasting memories.
Faith
Girls are encouraged to grow in their relationship with God through prayer, fellowship, biblical formation, faith awards, and service woven throughout the AHG experience.
Service
Girls learn that Christian leadership means serving others. Troop and community service opportunities help cultivate compassion, responsibility, initiative, and a lifelong willingness to put the needs of others before themselves.
Fun
From badges and friendships to camping, outdoor adventure, hands-on activities, and troop events, AHG gives girls room to experience the joy of learning and growing together.
Forming the Whole Girl
American Heritage Girls is intentionally designed to cultivate girls across several dimensions of life rather than focusing on one particular skill or activity. The national program is organized around six emphases.
Faith
Helping girls become increasingly anchored in Christ and learn to seek God’s will for their lives.
Leadership
Giving girls opportunities to accept responsibility, discover their gifts, lead others, manage projects, and learn the pattern of servant leadership demonstrated by Christ.
Social & Emotional Health
Helping girls understand their identity in Christ, form healthy relationships, develop meaningful friendships, and navigate emotions in a caring Christian environment.
Outdoors
Giving girls opportunities for camping, hiking, adventure, teamwork, physical activity, and a greater appreciation for the beauty and glory of God displayed in creation.
Citizenship
Teaching girls to understand their heritage, honor their country, participate in patriotic traditions, serve their communities, and become responsible citizens.
Life Skills
Giving girls practical opportunities to learn, create, solve problems, develop competence, and discover new interests through AHG’s broad badge program.
A Program That Grows With Her
American Heritage Girls serves girls from age 5 through 17. Girls remain part of one Troop while breaking into smaller age-based Units, so younger girls are encouraged by older girls while older girls learn responsibility, mentoring, and leadership.
Pathfinder
Age 5
The beginning of the AHG journey. Pathfinders explore faith, creativity, friendship, service, life skills, and outdoor experiences in an encouraging environment.
Tenderheart
Ages 6–8
Tenderhearts begin exploring the world around them more boldly while developing faith, life skills, perseverance, service habits, and new interests.
Explorer
Ages 9–11
Explorers begin accepting greater responsibility and receive expanding opportunities for service, leadership, skill development, and adventure.
Pioneer
Ages 12–13
Pioneers are encouraged to understand more deeply who they are in Christ while exploring their abilities and taking on increasingly significant leadership opportunities.
Patriot
Ages 14–17
Patriots take greater ownership of their experience, develop practical skills for adulthood, deepen friendships, pursue spiritual maturity, and practice Christian servant leadership.
The Patriot level can ultimately lead to the Stars & Stripes Award, American Heritage Girls' highest honor.
Badges, Skills & Adventure
Rather than simply sitting through lessons, girls learn through experience — working alongside one another, accepting challenges, serving others, and developing abilities they can carry into adulthood.
